Wesley has been a  California licensed CPA since 1999 and received an MBA and a BA in Accounting from the University of Oregon. He worked 15 years for the international public accounting firm Deloitte & Touche and 11 years as a VP Corporate Controller for a series of high growth start-ups.

Dominic has been a California licensed CPA since 2015 and received a BA in Accounting from the University of Arizona. He worked for 4 years in public accounting for both Ernst & Young and BPM and 9 years in various accounting positions for scaling companies.

How big is your team?

Good Guys Accounting is owned and operated by two California licensed CPA's (Wesley Gutknecht and Dominic Giovannetti). All work is performed or directly supervised exclusively by CPA's. If we are unable to provide a specific service, we are happy to refer you to other qualified professionals.

Is Good Guys Accounting licensed in California as an Accounting Firm?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Good Guys Accounting is a California licensed accounting firm which means that it is majority owned (100% for us) by CPA's, meets the requirements to be a registered California accounting firm, and is licensed in the State of California to provide public accounting services.

How are we different than other bookkeepers?

Accepted Answer

Most bookkeepers are not licensed CPA's, they do not work for a licensed accounting firm, they are limited in the services they can provide, and they do not have the experience, education, or depth of knowledge of a CPA. You will need to hire a separate accountant to perform these services. At Good Guys Accounting, we are licensed California CPA's working for a licensed California Accounting Firm, and we can provide a full range of accounting, tax, and consulting services.

What software platforms do you use?

Our primary platform is QuickBooks Online and we are QuickBooks ProAdvisor Level 1 and Level 2 certified along with being QuickBooks Bookkeeper certified and QuickBooks Payroll certified. How do you access my financial information?

Accepted Answer

You can choose to either upload your financial information to our secure, cloud-based file server (we will provide secure login credentials) or you can provide separate login credentials for us to access your information. In either case, your security and privacy remain our top priorities.

Do we have to sign up for a long term commitment?

Accepted Answer

Our services are offered as either one-time project-based engagements or recurring monthly agreements. Monthly recurring services may be terminated by either party with a 60-day notice period.

Do you offer a standard small business or start-up package of services?
